Shoppers claim this face mask is ‘best skincare product they’ve ever used’
Mel, 32, says: ‘I try not to read too much into overly-positive reviews for a mask such as this, as I’ve got pretty sensitive skin and was expecting to find the Cheat Mask a bit too full on.
‘Night one, I took things easy, seeing as the word ‘resurfacing’ brings on skin anxiety (skinxiety?). The blue serum does on easily, no tingling, no stinging. So far, so good. It was advised I follow Cheat Mask up with the luscious Supreme Restructure – which, on application, felt like a glorious rich cream that sunk into my skin. Perhaps the perfect antidote to something with three acids in it…
‘The next morning, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how soft my skin felt. Just after one evening, it seemed I had well and truly been resurfaced. Still, it hadn’t been a miracle, and I had some blemishes continue to kick it on my chin, as they are wont to do. But, hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
‘Two nights later I found myself lathering on a thicker layer of the gloopy Cheat Mask, and despite its ingredients including Lactic, Succinic and Asiatic Acids, there was no sensitivity found.
‘Again, I felt it brightened and absolutely softened my skin texture come the next morning, but I don’t know how much of that is down to Cheat Mask and how much of that is Supreme Restructure. Together, they feel like a winning combination and I’m excited to see if they can, as they aim to do, help my fine lines and reduce pesky blemishes after longer-term use.
‘On the evenings I didn’t use Cheat Mask, as it’s recommended only a few times a week, I tried the brand’s Face Coach, an ‘enzymaticaly-activated’ oil. I don’t know what ‘enzymaticaly-activated’ means, but it created a lovely base to gua sha pre-bed, at least.
‘It’s said the oil helps increase collagen production and reduce fine lines, so I’ll stay tuned to see just how well it does in that arena.
‘Elephant in the room, these products are not cheap, with Cheat Mask setting you back £72, but if you’re someone with the means it could just be a solid treatment product.’
