Shock early return bolsters star’s Origin recall
Canterbury winger Josh Addo-Carr’s hopes of an Origin recall have been bolstered by a shock early return from injury.
When Addo-Carr limped from the field in round six, and later had a high ankle sprain confirmed, most punters put a line through him for the State of Origin opener, which is on May 31 in Adelaide.
But the 12-time New South Wales representative was seen training in full flight earlier this week, and has now been named in Canterbury’s team ahead of Friday’s game against the Warriors.

If Addo-Carr plays, he will have two games to stake his claim on a Blues jumper and impress state coach Brad Fittler, who controversially dumped the winger from the team last year.
