Shein’s Paris Fashion Week show is here to surprise you

Fast fashion retailer Shein opened applications for their third edition of the Shein X challenge earlier this year, which was set up to help young designers break into the industry.

Supported by the Graduate Fashion Foundation and in association with media partner Hello! Fashion, this year’s challenge attracted nearly 2,500 applicants from all over Europe in one month.

Each candidate was asked to create three complete looks based on a theme, and the prizes were immense.

The top 10 contestants were offered personalised masterclasses from the expert judges enlisted by Shein, and cash prizes to support their projects.

The winner, Amy Sala, from Liverpool, received €10,000. Those in second and third place received €8,000 and the rest €5,000.

Today, all 10 finalists will showcase three of their looks in the Shein X fashion show. 

The theme of the show is ‘Endless Summer’ and will feature 78 designs in total, all of which will be made available on the Shein website following the runway show. 

The featured outfits will follow an ethereal theme and a neutral, pastel or vibrant colour palette. 

As well as featuring clothes from emerging designers, Shein said the runway show will also feature a diverse cast of models selected earlier this month. 

Over the past two years, the fashion retailer has invested $55 million (£44,130,000) in the Shein X programme, resulting in the launch of 2,000 collections.
