The Love Island star, 28, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Billy Webb, 29, has shared her experiences throughout pregnancy, especially her struggles with her changing body.
Now, the reality TV personality is looking forward to meeting her bundle of joy, revealing she has booked in for an induction after passing her March 25 due date.
Shaughna additionally revealed that a few weeks prior, she was rushed to hospital after her baby stopped moving.
In her column with OK!, the star said she visited the hospital as she experienced reduced movements, but that luckily everything ‘turned out to be ok’.
However, she was then left panicking as she was faced with the prospect of giving birth to her child as a doctor approached her about induction.
‘As I was 38 weeks pregnant, the doctor told me they would induce me,’ she began.
‘It massively made me panic and I told them I didn’t feel ready to give birth, but they kept me overnight and put me in a post-natal ward where babies had already been born.’
Shaughna shared that she felt she was ‘being pushed into getting an induction when [she] wasn’t ready’ and found the experience ‘traumatising’.
However, after an overnight stay in the hospital, the star was presented with other options for her pregnancy.
‘Thankfully another doctor came the next day and told me I had other options, but now I am definitely ready for the baby to come,’ she added.
Shaughna has taken to Instagram to urge fans not to send her any ‘horror stories’ ahead of her induction, which is set to take place on Sunday.
Writing in a post on her Instagram story, she said: ‘Polite request. Please refrain from sending me your horror stories of being induced, or your opinions on why me being induced is wrong for my baby.
‘I appreciate you may mean well, but it is not helpful. As a first-time mum, you will know the anxiety I am already feeling, and the last thing I need to hear is horrible experiences or being mum-shamed.
‘Thank you for all the lovely messages I’ve received, they far outweigh the negative ones.’
