Sharon Osbourne’s TalkTV show received an increase in viewers after she flew back to the US to be with her husband Ozzy Osbourne after he contracted Covid.

The former X Factor judge, 69, is one of the famous names who was added to the line-up of the new broadcaster owned by NewsCorp.

However, she’s struggled to draw in a crowd so far, with just 10,000 people tuning in to her programme The Talk on Wednesday night.

On Thursday, it was confirmed she would be set to miss at least the next week of shows after her husband, 73, caught Covid.

She told fans she would need to travel back to the States in order to help him recover from the virus – and would have to miss her programme.

But in new ratings released on Friday, her viewership climbed back up after she was unable to present the latest episode.

But last night’s 9pm slot received an average of 38,000, quite the increase from the day before.

She debuted with 44,000 viewers on Monday, which fell drastically over the next two days.

Instead, the chat show featured a panel made up of names including Vanessa Feltz, helmed by Jeremy Kyle.

Sharing why she had to go on leave, Sharon said: ‘Ozzy was only diagnosed in the middle of the night our time. I spoke to him and he’s OK. I am very worried about Ozzy right now.

‘We’ve gone two years without him catching Covid and it’s just Ozzy’s luck it would be now.’

Talking about returning to Talk TV Sharon said: ‘I can’t believe my luck. I’m missing the show and I’ve only been there three days. I can’t believe it. Three days and I’m missing the show but I will be back. I know I will.’

At the end of last night’s programme, controversial TV personality Kyle, 56, confirmed he would be set to host a new talk show on the broadcaster.

He said: ‘I’m really excited and delighted to announce I’m going to be hosting a brand new primetime show right here on TalkTV.

‘TalkTV is about common sense and it’s about how that news is given to people. This show, with a people’s panel is going to be about news but about how the people the length and breadth of this country respond to that news.’

The Talk airs weekdays at 9pm on TalkTV.
