Sharon Osbourne has dedicated a moving tribute to her friend Paul O’Grady.

Paul died ‘unexpectedly but peacefully’ on Tuesday evening aged 67, his husband Andre Portasio confirmed.

Sharon, 70, said her ‘life will be darker’ without the late star and sent his husband Andre and daughter Sharon her love.

Alongside a heartbroken emoji, Sharon penned: ‘You brought so much love and light to everyone’s life, I know mine will be a little darker without you in it. All my love and condolences to Sharon and Andre.’

She also shared a photo of herself and Paul – who leaves behind his husband, daughter and two grandchildren – on social media.

Andre confirmed this week: ‘It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.

‘We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.

‘He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.

‘I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.’

Tributes have been pouring in from the entertainment world, with Carol Vorderman and Lorraine Kelly among the first to pay their respects, while the royal family also shared their condolences.

In a post on social media, the Royal Family remembered his work with Queen Consort Camilla, as they both supported Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Sharing a picture of Paul with the Queen Consort, they wrote: ‘Deeply saddened to hear of the death of Paul O’Grady, who worked closely with Her Majesty in support of @Battersea_, providing lots of laughter and many waggy-tailed memories.’

Palace sources added that the Queen Consort felt ‘deeply saddened’ by his death, saying Paul’s ‘warm heart and infectious humour lit up the lives of so many’.
