Sharon Cuneta says she was not snubbed by Barbie Imperial: ‘I have no idea where this issue came from’
Sharon Cuneta came to Barbie Imperial’s defense, as the latter was accused of allegedly snubbing the Megastar at an undisclosed event.
Cuneta took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 24 to share a screenshot of what appeared to be her message to Imperial, as a way of defending the latter from naysayers. The “Araw Gabi” star was criticized by netizens for brushing the latter off, although details of the alleged encounter were yet to be revealed.
“Hi Barbie! A friend of mine just told me today that you have been getting flak for supposedly snubbing me?” Cuneta’s message to Imperial read. “I am [so, so] sorry you have to go through this.”
The screen veteran then clarified that she “haven’t seen” Imperial in person, as she stressed that the latter “[did] nothing wrong.”
“I hope to meet you someday! Please be strong and remember I have no idea where this issue came from either! God bless you and if you want to post this it is totally okay with me. Take care!” she added.
Cuneta also hoped that her message to the actress would “clear the issue,” as seen in the caption of her Instagram Story.
“I sent this to [Barbie Imperial]. I hope it clears the issue,” she said.
On the other hand, the “Pinoy Big Brother” alum shared another screengrab of what seemed to be Cuneta’s comment in one of her posts on the same day, which is an apparent repeat of the latter’s message.
“KILIG,” she captioned her post.
Back in February, Cuneta opened up about the practices of screen veterans, particularly when it comes to showing respect to senior artists, as she revealed that she ran into younger actors who walked past her. She, however, didn’t disclose the identity of these celebrities.
“Meron kasing nakakalungkot—minsan nasasalubong namin noon sa [ABS-CBN] corridor. Pagdaan [nila] feeling ko, ‘Kamag-anak kaya ni boss Gabby ‘yon?’ ‘Yung mga bata ngayon, makasalubong mo lang face to face, parang [‘yung] dinaanan nila poste lang. Hindi naman ako nag-eexpect ng anything, just a little (smile and nod). ‘Yung parang kahit walang hello, smile lang,” she said in an interview with Ogie Diaz. EDV
