Second Xbox showcase promises deeper dives and even more reveals

Aside from more third party reveals, a second Xbox showcase will offer more detailed explanations for the likes of Avowed and Hellblade 2.

There’s no denying that, compared to Sony’s latest showcase, Microsoft had the superior presentation, with its Xbox Games Showcase highlighting a solid line-up of first and third party titles, including an awful lot of Starfield.

On top of that, Microsoft already has a second showcase planned for tomorrow on Tuesday June 13, which will air at 6pm BST.

While its purpose is to provide a closer look at a handful of games shown during the main presentation, Microsoft is also teasing even more reveals.

This comes from Microsoft’s own recap of the Xbox Games Showcase, revealing that the second showcase will focus on five games: Avowed, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Towerborne, The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, and the Dune expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

However, it also mentions there will be ‘games from our creative partners that we didn’t show you today,’ which seems to suggest that these new announcements will be from third party studios.

Whether any of these third party games will be Xbox exclusives is unclear, but perhaps unlikely. The main showcase featured a lot of third party games already and most of them are either confirmed or safely assumed to be coming to other platforms as well.

‘We’ll have in-depth interviews, behind-the-scenes features, gameplay walkthroughs with brand new footage, and more! And you may even see some very special guests show up, perhaps even one celebrity…,’ Microsoft adds.

There’s so far nothing to hint at who this celebrity guest could be, but we might be able to rule out Nicolas Cage since he already popped by Summer Game Fest to promote his cameo in Dead By Daylight.

At the very least, this second showcase will be worth tuning in for more of Avowed and Hellblade 2. While both now boast 2024 launch dates, their new trailers didn’t show an awful lot and could do with further gameplay demonstrations.

As a reminder, there are still two more gaming showcases to get through and both are happening later today.

Ubisoft Forward is scheduled for 6pm BST and will be showing more of the publisher’s new Star Wars Outlaws game, followed by a Capcom showcase at 11pm BST.
