Scotland’s best beach is ‘unforgettable’
Tripadvisor review data has revealed the best beaches in Scotland, any of which could be perfect for a staycation. The winning beach is a sandy spot in the Outer Hebrides.
Luskentyre Beach in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides has been crowned the country’s best beach according to Tripadvisor reviews.
The beach’s white sands and crystal clear blue water could be mistaken for a far-flung Caribbean island.
A tourist ‘Mel C’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Extraordinarily beautiful beach of brilliant white, shell sand, stretching across a huge sheltered bay. Unforgettable.”
Another visitor ‘sarah’ wrote: “How can this beach be in the UK? It’s absolutely stunning and beautiful to walk along.”
‘Petesaund’ wrote: “This is surreal. It’s fortunate that this is sufficiently far away from civilisation to sustain such unparalleled beauty.”
Luskentyre Beach is usually quiet enough for tourists to grab a little patch of paradise to relax.
During the peak season, the small car park can quickly fill up with motorhomes so tourists may want to aim to arrive before 9am.
Calgary Bay on the Isle of Mull grabbed second place in the rankings and was described as “amazing”.
