SB19 is set to make their grand return to the P-pop scene with their upcoming album “Pagtatag,” which will include a total of six tracks.

The five-member group, which dropped their comeback trailer earlier this week, confirmed that it will be releasing its much-anticipated album on June 9, while the single will be dropped this coming May 19.

Reports of SB19’s six-track record have emerged since mid-2022, and is poised to become the quintet’s “most sonically adventurous release yet” that will explore “new genres and music styles,” according to a release.

Leader Pablo previously confirmed at a press conference that the album will strengthen the quintet’s “foundation” as a group, an idea that came from all the members. “Definitely, different flavors and new experiences na pinagsama sa iisang album kaya mage-enjoy sila,” he added.

While additional details have been kept under wraps, main vocalist Stell said fans can expect a “rollercoaster ride of emotions” with the album, while his bandmates compared it to a combination of instant noodle flavors including “hot,” “spicy,” and “sweet.”

SB19’s comeback trailer

Previously, Justin, SB19’s youngest member, hinted that dedicated fans — also known as A’TIN — would be looking forward to the group’s “new look,” which was shown in their comeback trailer.

The five-minute video featured a ginger-haired Stell, light blonde Justin, blonde Ken with a jeweled headpiece, jet black haired Josh, and Pablo with his signature long locks.

It also featured actor Pepe Herrera, who supposedly lived with the members in a post-apocalyptic world with scarce resources. “Sa wakas, ang huling binhi ay nagbunga ng isang panibagong kabanata,” the “Killer Bride” star said in a narration.

The five-member group shared that Herrera is one of the actors they “truly admire” as they praised his professionalism.

“Pepe Herrera is one of the actors that we truly admire. Though we were not able to spend much time with him, he was very professional. But there’s something about him that, even when he’s serious, [he still gives off] a funny vibe. It was very easy working with him. It was just a fun experience,” they said.

SB19 also revealed that the trailer revolves around the “last plant that will save the world,” as it continues their “Ikalawang Yugto” trilogy. Including “Pagtatag,” they also hinted that “two more forthcoming releases” are currently in the works.

“The trailer proceeds as everyone conducts different experiments to try and salvage their last hope. In the end, the only answer to the plant’s propagation is their own blood,” they added.

SB19’s Pablo and Justin, and creative designer Xi-Anne Avanceña are the creative directors of the trailer, while the five-piece unit served as the executive producers.

The group, consisting of Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken, and Justin, made their debut in October 2018 with the single “Tilaluha.” Some of their biggest hits include “Where You At (WYAT),” “Mapa,” “Go Up,” “What?,” and “Bazinga,” among others. EDV
