Sarah Millican genuinely snubbed meeting the Queen to pick up a kitten instead
Sarah Millican has revealed she snubbed meeting the Queen because she was due to pick up a kitten that day.
The comedian was invited to meet Her Majesty to commemorate her jubilee celebrating 60 years of her monarchy but, actually, she was ‘busy that day’.
Tonight, Sarah appears on the latest episode of Unforgiveable with hosts Mel Giedroyc and Lou Sanders, which returns to Dave for its second series and sees celebrity guests share their most unforgivable confessions.
As well as admitting to urinating in a sink because there was loo roll nearby, Sarah explained why a kitten took priority over the queen.
‘It was a Jubilee, I thought she’ll have another one and I hadn’t had a cat in so long,’ explained Sarah.
‘I was booked in to pick the kitten up as soon as the kitten was ready to you know, to come and live with us.
‘I got an offer of doing the Queen’s Jubilee gig and I looked at my diary and it said “Pick up the kitten”.
Bluntly, she said: ‘I thought, “Busy that day.”’
Fair.
Coming up on the next Unforgiveable, Katherine Ryan made history by bringing her two week old baby Fred onto the panel show, and has already been applauded by fans.
‘The baby was brilliant,’ said Mel. ‘The recording took almost three hours, but they lay there totally happily with Katherine. It was really moving.’
However, the former Bake Off host admitted she felt terrible about ‘all the effing and jeffing in front of the baby’.
‘I was slightly worried,’ she told Big issue. ‘Then I thought, “Oh my god, what if my mum could hear me doing all this rudery?”
‘But then I remembered she can’t watch it, because she doesn’t know how to get Dave, so it’s fine.’
Unforgiveable airs tonight at 10pm on Dave.
