Sarah Ferguson mini outfit divides fans -some claim is ‘inappropriate’

Sarah Ferguson posted a picture with the caption “On my way to sign books!” on her Instagram account days after spending Christmas with the rest of the Royal Family. The photograph, which was reportedly taken before Christmas, shows Fergie getting out of a car in New York City where she had a professional engagement.

Sarah donned a very stylish forest green mini coat with a cape, a black mini dress underneath and black lace-up boots. She accessorised with a flower brooch, a pair of gold hoop earrings and a delicate gold diadem.

The royal chose the same coat, which is similar to a military jacket with an open collar and gold zip, that she wore for another book signing in Budapest earlier this month.

Her post caption read: “It brought me overwhelming joy seeing all of your lovely faces at the Libri bookstore in Budapest, where my book made number three on the bestseller list!”

She later added: “Wow, that’s a lot of signatures! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support.”

The royal was on her way to an event to promote her new book, A Most Intriguing Lady, which will be released in early 2023.

A Most Intriguing Lady is the second part of her first book, Her Heart For A Compass, which came out in 2021.

Royal fans took to the comments section to praise Sarah’s look with one saying: “That outfit is fantastic!! Love the emerald green and shoes!”

Another one, @olga_diana_hadeed, commented: “I like her very much, she is a very classy lady like Diana and Meghan they are the best!”

However, others didn’t think the mini outfit was “appropriate” with user @bonniedavis3669 commenting: “What is she wearing… looks inappropriate.”

@canfieldjane disagreed saying: “Inappropriate is one word. Besides, I think she looks terrific!”

“The outfit is fabulous, really puts those amazing pins of yours on a show!” said @theoriginalpoobrains and another agreed saying she looked “fabulous”.

Another royal watcher, @penelopenewport, simply added that Sarah looked “very stylish in that cape”.

Sarah Ferguson reportedly spent Christmas with the royals at Sandringham, although she didn’t attend church on Christmas Day with the rest of the Royal Family.

Fergie’s daughter, Princess Beatrice, attended with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and his son from his previous relationship with the American architect Dara Huang.

The six years old, Christopher Woolf, arrived holding his father and Beatrice’s hand while their daughter Sienna did not make an appearance.

Her sister Princess Eugenie also attended the Christmas service with her husband Jack Brooksbank while their son August was absent.

Sarah recently explained: “I love a family Christmas. I’m so proud of my children as mothers, I really spoil them every day. When it comes to gifts for the grandchildren, I often buy them toys that I like myself,” she told HELLO!.

Speaking to the Hungarian newspaper Blikk, Sarah revealed that she travelled to Windsor last Christmas after the Queen invited her to celebrate with them.

“I was able to spend last year with the Queen, now I don’t know where I’ll be, but for 30 years I’ve been teaching my daughters that it’s actually Christmas every day,” she said.
