After Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan which was initially set to release on June 2 has now been postponed, Laxman Utekar’s next romantic film starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan will reportedly be released on June 2 this year.
As reported by a leading news portal, a source stated, “The post-IPL period has always been a lucrative window for the release of feature films and with Jawan getting pushed, producer Dinesh Vijan felt that it’s the best date to bring the Laxman Uttekar directorial on June 2. The trailer will be out soon and the makers are confident to win over the audience’s love with this family entertainer.”
It is also alleged that the tentative title of the film is Luka Chuppi 2. The source also revealed the reason behind this title and said that the upcoming film has a unique and family-oriented world similar to Luka Chuppi, which has led the team to consider that as the title. The film is set to have a wide release in theatres across India and will be the first major Hindi movie to hit the big screen in May after a period of inactivity.
The goal is for the film to have a two-week uninterrupted run at the box office until Adipurush is released. So get ready for an enjoyable experience with Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan in Laxman Uttekar’s next film, coming out in June, as per the source’s concluding remarks.
In January of this year, the shooting for the film was completed. Sara too took to Instagram and shared a picture with a lengthy note expressing her gratitude to everyone involved. In her post, she also introduced her character, Somya. She wrote, “Can’t believe it’s already over! Thank you @laxman.utekar sir for giving me Somya. Thank you for all the guidance, patience and support. Thank you for always being so understanding and always pushing me to do better and better.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky has recently wrapped up Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Manekshaw biopic titled Sam Bahadur. Sara will be seen in Ae Watan Mere Watan, Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, and Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak.
