Samsung owners are just realising why they’re not hearing incoming calls

SAMSUNG owners are just realising why they haven’t been hearing incoming calls.

Customers of the South Korean smartphone company have been reminded of a feature they may have turned on years ago, and since forgotten.

Once it's switched off, you'll be able to hear calls, alarms and other notifications whichever way your phone is turned

A signature feature of select Samsung devices is the Flip to Mute feature.

This feature means that all you need to do to mute calls or even those pesky morning alarms, you simply have to flip to phone over face down.

It’s nowhere near a new feature, and you’ve likely heard of it.

Flip to Mute was introduced to more than a decade ago, and is compatible on devices running Android 6 and onwards.

But because the feature is so old, you may have forgotten that you turned it on in the first place.

So, if you’ve been been failing to pick up the phone to family and friends, this might be why.

To turn it off, simply follow these steps:

  • Open Settings.
  • Click on the Advanced features option.
  • Then tap Motions and gestures.
    • On Galaxy Tab S3 or S2, tap Easy Mute instead.
  • Here you’ll see an on/off toggle – swipe the toggle to off.

However, some Samsung owners swear by the feature.

One Samsung owner wrote on Twitter: “One of the most underrated features on Samsung devices is that flip to mute phone feature.”

Another tweeted: “Missing my Samsung right now for that flip to mute feature.”
