Samsung Galaxy A53 renders leak: Say goodbye to the 3.5mm port
TL;DR
- Renders of the Samsung Galaxy A53 have leaked online.
- The new phone is slightly thinner than the A52 but lacks a 3.5mm port.
The Galaxy A5x series is one of the more popular mid-range Samsung phone families, doing a great job of balancing sensible pricing with plenty of features. We’ve already seen the Galaxy A50, A51, A52, and several variants, and now we’ve got an extensive look at next year’s Galaxy A53.
Frequent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer and Digit.in posted several renders and a 360-degree video of the Samsung Galaxy A53. You can check out the video at the top of the page and the renders below.
The phone looks fundamentally similar to its predecessor, featuring a center-mounted punch-hole cutout. But we do see a rear camera housing that appears to better blend into the rest of the rear cover (along with four cameras).
One notable omission with the Galaxy A53 is the 3.5mm port, which means you’ll need a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter or USB-C earphones if you don’t want to switch to wireless audio.
Otherwise, Digit and Hemmerstoffer say the phone measures 8.14mm thick (or 9.73mm with the camera bump). That makes it slightly thinner than the Galaxy A52 range, which measured in at 8.4mm thick.
Galaxy Club previously reported that the phone might only be available as a 5G model (as opposed to 4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy A52). The outlet also claimed that it would be equipped with a 64MP main camera, much like the older phone. We’d expect optical image stabilization to make an appearance once again too.
