Sam Smith, 30 has sparked a divide amongst fans after they kicked off their Gloria tour wearing an array of risque outfits.
The Unholy singer wore just nipple tassels and a thong on stage in Sheffield on Thursday evening. They completed the raunchy outfit with a pair of black leather boots while accessorising with some long gloves.
The outfit has prompted some backlash from critics and some have called for the tour to be “age-restricted” after last night’s performance was deemed as controversial content.
One critic named Oli said: “Last night Sam Smith performed a satanic show filled with sexual references, fetish gear, a strip tease and a grotesque imitation of sex acts on stage while children were in the audience.”
Another added: “Sam Smith needs to be stopped. This sh*t should be in a strip club not a concert”.

While another said: “[Their] tour isn’t age restricted, children would’ve been present as [they] pranced around like this.”
Nevertheless, plenty of Sam’s loyal fan base spoke up defending the singer’s expressive style.
Madonna even shared a clip of the singer performing on her Instagram captioning the video “I LOVE YOU SAM [heart emoji]! @samsmith.”
Twitter user Sooz said: “If you’re clutching at your pearl straws over Sam Smith doing nothing more than risqué the same stuff that already had squares clutching pearls since forever… Elvis, Madonna, Freddie Mercury, Bowie, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X and more already offended you and your ilk.”
And Daniel gushed: “You can tell that Sam is living their best LIFE.”
Sam’s Gloria tour will now move to London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester before the Grammy winner travels to Madrid, Spain, and Dublin.
Sam, who came out as non-binary in May 2019, has since made some daring fashion statements and most recently sparked debate after their Brit Awards outfit choice.
They slipped into a daring latex bodysuit that featured huge shoulder pads and blown up legs for a dramatic look.
Sam paired the shiny black statement piece with matching gloves and leather boots, while accessorising with a pair of dainty pearl earrings to add a contrasting note.
Sam styled their blonde frosted tips into short spikes and added a pop of shimmer with a glossy lip.
