Sam Neill returns to red carpet after stage-three cancer news
Sam Neill, 75, was all smiles as he returned to the red carpet for the Sydney premiere of his latest project, The Portable Door. This comes as stars of the film have spoken out, admitting they had no idea the Hollywood actor had cancer.
The Jurassic Park star looked dapper in a black tuxedo, white buttoned shirt and brown shoes.
He was all smiles as he embraced his co-star, Miranda Otto on the blue carpet shortly after arriving at the event.
This comes as stars of the film took to the red carpet to reveal that they never knew of Sam’s cancer diagnosis.
Speaking at the premiere, Patrick Gibson, who plays the main character, Paul Carpenter, revealed he had no idea Sam was battling stage-three cancer, according to the Mail Online.

The aforementioned publication reported that the Irish actor did not know of Sam’s diagnosis or that he was in remission as he hasn’t seen him since filming wrapped.
The 27-year-old said acting alongside a legend such as Sam was “mad” and that he was a pleasure to work with.
He said: “It was mad, I was really nervous to come to set acting opposite these guys [Sam Neill and Christoph Waltz] who I’ve watched since I was a kid.
“But it couldn’t have been a lovelier experience, they are some of the best people, they are so sweet and so supportive.”
He explained: “I got a cancer scare about a year ago, but I’ve been in remission for eight months now, I’m starting work next week so I’m all good.
“I had to go into chemotherapy, I had nothing to do so I thought why not start writing? So after a few months, I thought there could be a book about this.
“It would cheer me up and make me feel better, thinking about stories and minor achievements.”
In his recently-published memoir, Sam shared his cancer diagnosis by writing in the first chapter that he is “possibly dying”.
This left the Hollywood actor to share a health update via video on Instagram, announcing to his followers that he was in remission.
He said: “I am alive and well and I have been in remission for eight months, which feels really good. And I’m alive and kicking and I’m going to work.’
“I’m very happy to be going back to work. We start filming in seven days’ time.
“I’m doing a thing called ‘Apples Never Fall’ with Annette Bening, and a really wonderful cast. So here I am.”
