S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt has been left devastated following the death of her fellow bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole and has revealed she ‘can’t stop crying’.

Cattermole, 46, an original member of the seven-piece pop group, was found dead on April 6 at his home in Dorset, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fans and loved ones.

Breaking her silence on his death for the first time, Hannah, 42, admitted: ‘I’m trying my best to hold it together but once I start, I can’t stop crying.

‘And then I have to keep myself together for our two kids. I can’t even imagine any mother losing their child.’

She added to The Sun: ‘My heart is broken for him and his family. He was happier than he had been in years, so for this to happen now, makes it even more heartbreaking.’

Hannah dated Cattermole twice over the years, with the pair first getting together in 2001.

During their first relationship, they were together for five years before they parted ways in 2006.

They later rekindled their romance for one final time in 2015, however, they parted ways again after a few months.

Following their second breakup, it was reported that Cattermole and Hannah were not exactly on good terms and that he had accused her of ‘replacing’ him with Primeval star Andrew-Lee Potts.

In 2019, Cattermole revealed their relationship wasn’t exactly organic in the beginning as he was contractually obliged to date Hannah with their romance written into the group’s TV show, Hollywood 7.

Despite their bitter split, Hannah revealed that she met with Cattermole in January before S Club 7 announced their special 25th-anniversary tour.

She described their meeting as a ‘heart to heart’ and shared that they were able to speak about everything that had happened between them.

Cattermole’s family and S Club 7 confirmed his death in a statement last week, which read: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

‘Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

‘While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

‘Paul’s family, friends, and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.’

Cattermole joined Hannah, Bradley McIntosh, Tina Barrett, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee and Rachel Stevens when S Club 7 formed in 1998.

They quickly rose to fame and climbed up the music charts with four UK number one singles, one UK number one album, and hits throughout the world during their five years together.
