Rylan Clark makes cheeky quip as viral toothpaste tweet has fans in stitches

A tweet from Rylan Clark on the cost of toothpaste went viral as he humorously informed fans “this is how I lose everything”. The BBC Radio 2 host is currently touring Italy as he films a new TV show with another famous face.

After galivanting around Greece for an Amazon project, Rylan continued his travels across the Mediterranean as he jetted over to Italy to film his next TV show with Robert Rinder.

The former This Morning host and Judge Rinder will present a new BBC travel show as the duo explore the art and culture of Italy.

The three-part series, currently titled Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour, is set for broadcast on BBC Two, and will see the TV personalities emulate romantic poet Lord Byron and English aristocrats who took part in the Grand Tour, a classic trip through Europe most popular in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Despite spending a significant amount of time abroad, Rylan has continued to pay attention to all that is happening at home as he keeps up with his social media antics.

Rylan retweeted a post from No Context Brits who posted a photo of a supermarket shelf with an eye-popping stack of whitening toothpaste being sold for no less than £10 a tube, Manchester Evening News reports.

The caption simply reads: “A tenner for toothpaste.”

Rylan, who is renowned for his distinctive pearly whites, retweeted the post and quipped to his 1.7 million followers: “And this is how I lose everything.”

And his comment quickly caught the attention of his followers as his replies became littered with crying laughing emojis as others shared their own shock.

One user wrote: “Gotta look after those pearly whites though Rylan!”

Another commented: “Took me a minute! Best tweet I’ve seen all day!”

A third replied: “What!!!!!!! £10 for toothpaste!”

A fourth added: “Bloody hell that’s a ridiculous amount of money.”

Rylan has been regularly updating his fans and followers with pictures from his trip, appearing to reference his love life as he shared a selfie of himself, Rob and his friend and makeup artist Bernice Cole on Instagram.

The trio appeared to be enjoying a drink outside however Rylan’s grimace appears to indicate he was not pleased to perch on a separate table to Rob and Bernice.

“Always 3rd wheeling,” he started the message alongside the post to his Instagram Story.

He then added: “If you’re in Florence, hit me up,” alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.

This comes after Rylan put speculation to a halt after he shared a snap that appeared to suggest he was with a mystery man.

In a different Instagram Story post last week, Rylan was seen flashing some bling in Venice and sporting a ring while filming as he posted a picture of his leg in beige chinos with his hand resting on his thigh.

Rylan quickly silenced the rumour mill with a typed-out message across a black background which simply read: “That’s my right hand, FYI [for your information].”
