Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC team kick off trip to Las Vegas in style
The 46-year-old actor is the co-chair of the club alongside Rob McElhenney, who is best known for starring in the sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Wrexham have now been promoted to League Two for the first time in 15 years and have been treated to a party weekend in Sin City by their Deadpool actor boss.
Wrexham AFC sealed their promotion with a 3-1 win over Borehamwood on April 22, with the ladies’ team also achieving a promotion.
The men’s team has since jetted into Harry Reid International Airport before heading to the city’s Hakkasan nightclub where Welsh flags waved and the team’s name was spelled out in neon lights.
They danced the night away to music from DJ James Hype, who has achieved UK chart hits such as More Than Friends with Kelli-Leigh and Ferrari with Miggy Dela Rosa.
Following their night out, the team were snapped partying around a pool and inviting bikini-clad women into their VIP cabana as the celebrations continued.
Paul Mullin, who plays as a forward for team, opened up to GQ about the team’s plans to head to Vegas earlier this week.
He said: ‘It became a thing where if we won the league, we’d get a holiday. So we’re off to Vegas.
‘Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they’re sorting the lot. They sent us a full itinerary just now.
‘Part of me doesn’t want to go, I might be dead by the end of it! But I’d never go to Vegas by my own accord, so I’m buzzing for it.’
Earlier this week, Ryan joined the lads on an open-top bus tour of Wrexham to celebrate their victory.
Fans of all ages lined the streets, chanting and waving flags and scarves, as the bus made its way through the town.
Ryan, who is married to Hollywood star Blake Lively, joked that the celebrations were actually a tribute to David Beckham, who celebrated his birthday on the same day as the parade.
He said in a video message: ‘David, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday,’ he began, shouting over the event’s lively music.
‘We threw this huge parade for you, we love you so much!’ he added as the footballers waved behind him, lifting their trophy, and started shouting out birthday greetings themselves.
‘Everybody came!’ he announced, ending the short clip by making a shocked face.
