Ruffa Gutierrez’s legal counsel, Atty. Bryant Gamonnac Casiw, stated that the actress “neither fired nor refused to pay” her house helpers, dismissing the claims against Gutierrez as “black propaganda.”

Gutierrez earlier addressed the issue involving her and her house helpers, denying that she kicked them out without paying their salaries. The actress’ statement came after P3PWD Rep. Rowena Guanzon tweeted about “two household helpers who were thrown out of a first class village,” and eventually asked the actress if the said incident was true.

“Contrary to fake news peddled on social media, our client NEITHER FIRED the helpers NOR REFUSED TO PAY their remaining pay for six days. In fact, it was the helpers who quit and insisted that they leave the house immediately without complying with clearance requirements of the village association,” Casiw said in an official statement released on Vincentiment’s Facebook page today, July 11.

“This fake news is a black propaganda/smear campaign against our Client as she is playing the character of Former First Lady Imelda Marcos in an upcoming movie,” the statement added.

Casiw narrated what supposedly happened and alleged that the helpers “caused a commotion” as they were “in a hurry” to leave the actress’ house. It was also stated that the helpers “endangered the safety, security and privacy” of Gutierrez and her family.

“This domestic issue could be resolved privately. Despite what happened, our client wishes the helpers well,” Casiw wrote. “Our client will explore all legal actions and remedies available, especially against those spreading unverified information/fake news.”

Meanwhile, Annabelle Rama, Gutierrez’s mom, came to her daughter’s defense and addressed a certain “rumormonger” to “mind their own business,” via Rama’s Twitter page, also today. JB
