Rozgar Mela in Bengal saw 404 appointments – Times of India
Both Eastern and South Eastern Railway held Rozgar Mela, a mega recruitment drive, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
In this biggest-ever recruitment drive, new appointees were handed over appointment letters in different central government ministries and departments at 45 different venues across the country as a part of the Central Government’s endeavour to provide around one lakh new jobs every month.
In his inspiring speech, Prime Minister Modi congratulated all the new appointees and their family members and conveyed his best wishes to them.
Pratima Bhoumik, Minister of State, of union social justice and empowerment, was present at the Rozgar Mela venue at Kolkata wherein as a part of the government’s endeavour to generate employment in a mission mode. 192 new appointees were handed over appointment letters for posting at different departments of central government at Dr B.C. Roy Auditorium, Sealdah.
Before handing over the appointment letters, Bhoumik described the event as a historic moment. She also highlighted the success of this Mega Recruitment Drive being organized this time by the Indian Railways, the Lifeline of Nation. She handed letters to the candidates in different Central Government departments like the Home Ministry, India Post, Defence, Indian Railways, Revenue, Telecommunications, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and Higher Education.
In the Rozgar Mela held at Kharagpur, total 212 Appointment letters were handed over to the newly inducted recruits for different posts in various Ministries and Departments including Railways, Postal, Bank, AIIMS, IIT etc. Dr. Subhas Sarkar, MoS, for Education, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest for the event. Dilip Ghosh, MP, M.S. Hashmi, Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur, and Prof. V.K.Tewari Director, IIT, Kharagpur were also present on the occasion.
In the Rozgar Mela held at Ranchi, Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India was the Chief Guest. Deepak Prakash, MP, C.P. Singh, MLA, Samri Lal, MLA & Pradeep Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi were also present on the occasion. Total 272 appointment letters were handed over to newly inducted recruits at Ranchi in different Ministries and Departments like Railways, Bank, Defence, Postal, GSI, Education, ESIC etc.
The new appointees selected from across the country will join the Central Government offices at various levels. The new appointees will play a pivotal role in nation-building by infusing innovative ideas, applying cutting-edge technologies in government services and ensuring public participation.
Arun Arora, General Manager, Eastern Railway, Chetan Kumar Srivastava, Additional General Manager, Smt. Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway, Deepak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah, and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
