Royal Mail announces new postal delays – full list of areas affected

Royal Mail has announced several UK postcodes will experience postal delays this morning. This is due to bad weather, staff shortages and sickness, and the company has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

As of Monday, 20 March, several delivery and collection services are due to take place across the UK.

However, Royal Mail has announced, “delivery of international items may take slightly longer than usual”.

Anyone using the International Tracked service may notice alternative tracking information and items leaving the country.

There are also some delays in tracking events in a small number of destinations, the website said.

In terms of the movement of mail through the Royal Mail network; Air, Rail and Road operated to schedule over the weekend.

Mail Centres, however, not all mail was processed or dispatched to schedule over the last 24 hours.

The Jubilee Mail Centre was affected with “some mail posted in the GU, KT, SW and TW postcode areas, due for delivery today in other parts of the UK”.

Delivery and collection distruption: 

After the recent amber weather warning across certain areas of the UK, there delays and disruptions to delivery and collection services in the following areas:

Parts of the Midlands, North East and North West England, North Wales and Scotland are experiencing delays.

The postcodes affected are: B18, B19, B20, B21, B29, B70, B71, BN9, PE26, PE28, PE29; S6, S12, S13, S32, S33, S35, S40, S41, S42, S43, S45, S49 and ZE2.
