Nico Rosberg believes Red Bull and Max Verstappen are set to dominate F1 for the foreseeable future after claiming back-to-back successes. Verstappen, who had already been crowned world champion in Japan in the previous race, secured the constructors’ championship for Red Bull by winning the US Grand Prix last weekend.
It remains to be seen if anyone can come close in 2023 with Red Bull well clear of their rivals, boasting a 187-point lead over Ferrari with three races remaining. Mercedes, who won the constructors’ championship eight years running before last season, are 240 points behind in third.
And Rosberg, who played a key role in the German manufacturer’s success, believes F1 is about to embark on a new period of domination from Red Bull, with everything in their favour going into next season.
Following the US Grand Prix, the former world champion told Sky Sports: “Red Bull is the dominant force at the moment in the same way Mercedes was for all these years.

It has been a difficult season for Mercedes and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who appeared on course for an unlikely first victory in Texas last weekend. But Verstappen hit back as Red Bull showed their prowess on the straights once again.
Hamilton insists he can take Mercedes back to the top in 2023 once they have closed the gap on Red Bull but Rosberg has warned they must address one particular issue if they are to stand any chance of challenging Christian Horner’s Red Bull team in 2023.
Rosberg added: “It will be really tough for Mercedes or Ferrari to get close. For Mercedes, the Achilles heel is the straight-line pace. My goodness are they slow. I hope they find the secret to unlock some pace down the straight.”
