Rosanna Arquette breaks silence on her ‘horrible’ shopping centre car collision

In a statement to Express.co.uk, Rosanna Arquette revealed she is “so grateful no one was hurt” after her car accident at an LA shopping centre on Tuesday.

The Pulp Fiction actress, 63, spoke out after reports claimed she had been involved in a car crash in Malibu, at the Point Dume Village outdoor shopping centre.

Rosanna has now broken her silence on the incident, telling Express.co.uk: “It was a horrible accident and I am so grateful no one was hurt, and that is what matters most.”

It comes after Malibu’s Lost Hills Sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro told Fox News: “It appeared that she had possibly lost control of her vehicle,

“At the time of the incident, it did not appear that she had any injuries.”

The US media outlet was also told by officials at the time that the cause of the crash was “pending investigation”.

Following the car collision, Rosanna was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, according to reports.

Authorities responded to reports of a motorist driving her vehicle through the back of a shopping centre at around 9.45am on July 11.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed that officials, including Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, had responded to the incident and confirmed that Rosanna was involved.

It is thought that the vehicle had crashed through the glass partition before coming to a halt outside Lily’s Malibu restaurant.

Speaking to The Malibu Times on Tuesday, Los Angeles Fire Station 71 Captain Mike Rivera said: “it was unknown exactly what happened during the crash”.

He continued: “Instead of backing out, (her vehicle) went forward, and took out three pillars that support the roof, luckily no one was injured, we had two tables nearby but luckily no one was sitting there.

“Right now we’re just waiting for engineering to come out to deem the building safe and make sure it’s safe.”

He also added that: “She [Arquette] was a little shook up about what happened.”

Rosanna rose to fame due to her acclaimed roles in Pulp Fiction, Crash and Desperately Seeking Susan.
