MANILA, Philippines—As the Fiba World Cup looms, countries are beefing up their rosters, including Jordan.

On Wednesday, the Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF) announced in a Facebook post that former TNT import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is already in the middle of naturalization and will join the Jordan team for the global competition in Manila, next month.

The Jordan team is currently with Hollis-Jefferson in Lithuania for several tune-up games but the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup’s Best Import of the Conference will not participate in any of those matches.

Hollis-Jefferson will be activated by Jordan when the squad flies to Portugal for more tune-ups, according to the JBF’s post.

Hollis-Jefferson played six seasons in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers but it was only this year when he had a taste of a professional basketball title with Tropang Giga.

The 6-foot-6 forward helped TNT notch the Governors’ Cup with norms of 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.1 steals while also taking home BPC honors.

Hollis-Jefferson also played briefly for the Jeonju KCC Egis in the Korea Basketball League, earlier this year.

The JBF has a full month to prepare Hollis-Jefferson’s papers before the Fiba World Cup commences on August 25 at Philippine Arena and other cities in Japan and Indonesia.
