Robert De Niro’s girlfriend suffered ‘complication’ after giving birth

Robert De Niro’s partner Tiffany Chen has spoken candidly about the problems she faced after giving birth to their three-month-old daughter.

The 45-year-old will be opening up to host Gayle King on CBS Morning today (July 13) and tomorrow in an exclusive interview.

CBS Morning’s teased the upcoming interview on its Twitter account with a photo of Chen chatting to King.

The snap was captioned: “TUNE IN: Tiffany Chen recently gave birth to her first child with partner Robert De Niro.

“Tomorrow, she reveals a postpartum complication to @GayleKing , speaking exclusively to CBS Mornings for her first interview since giving birth. The full interview airs on Friday.”

Viewers will have to tune in to find out from Chen exactly what happened.

Chen and The Godfather star, 79, welcomed their first child together, a girl Gia Chen De-Niro in April.

Gia is Hollywood icon De Niro’s seventh child with the actor having six children: Drena De Niro, Raphael De Niro, Aaron De Niro, Julian De Niro, Elliot De Niro, and Helen De Niro.

He broke the news of his daughter’s birth unexpectedly during an interview with ET Tonight after the host said: “I know you have six kids.”

De Niro was quick to correct the presenter: “Seven, actually. I just had a baby”.

The couple confirmed their newborn’s full name as Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro on CBS Mornings with veteran broadcaster King breaking the news.

At the time, the program shared an adorable photo of Gia while King gave more details.

The journalist said: “[Gia] weighed eight pounds and six ounces when she was born on April 6. [Robert] and his partner, that’s Tiffany Chen, are over the moon about this little girl.”

Chen and De Niro reportedly met on the set of his 2015 movie The Intern and started dating during the shoot.
