Rita Ora admits she left her NHS-worker mum furious with illegal Covid bash
RITA Ora has told how her mum was left furious and disappointed after her infamous lockdown birthday bash.
The Praising You singer, 32, says Vera, 57, who works in the NHS as a mental health nurse was exhausted as she battled to protect the nation on the frontline.
Rita told Glamour UK’s May digital issue: “She was upset with me, that was the worst bit.
“Seeing her working every day and coming home exhausted and knowing what I did, was obviously avoidable.”
The Sun first told in November 2020 how Rita hosted a lavish 30th birthday party with thirty people at Casa Cruz restaurant in Notting Hill, West London.
Guests included model Cara Delevigne, 30, and her sister Poppy, 37, as well as TOWIE star Vas Morgan, 34.
Police attended the venue but were unable to gain access.
Rita later issued a grovelling apology and offered to pay the £11,000 fine,
At the time the country was in the middle of its second national lockdown.
Rita previously said: “It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK… I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.
“This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.
“I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe. Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.”
