‘Ripping us off!’ Trinny Woodall peels Zara label to find pound price 40% HIGHER than euro

Trinny Woodall, who advised UK television viewers on What Not to Wear and now runs beauty empire Trinny London, found a shocking discrepancy in the price of items from popular high street store Zara.

The fashion expert, who has more than 1million Instagram followers, went through a few Zara orders on the social media app.

She made a startling discovery when pulling back the price labels on her purchases.

“They’re really swizzing us,” the fashion expert said.

Pulling out her first purchase – a sweater – Trinny said: “It’s a jumper from the Staples collection, £109. I pull back the sticker which says €99.

“So, since when has the pound been worth less than the euro? Or else they’re really swizzing us.”

She added: “Zara really needs to sort out their euro to pound translations.”

Next, the style advisor showed off a green wool coat from the retailer. “Another lovely price point, Zara,” she said, looking at the label again.

“If you bought it in Europe it’s €169 and that’s £199 they’re charging us,” she explained.

Using a conversion site, the expert did some quick maths.

She said: “If I go online, what’s €169 in pounds? If it’s £199 it should be €269 in Europe but it wasn’t, it was €169.

“So my God, Zara you’re ripping us off.”
