Rio Ferdinand’s wife an ’emotional wreck’ after son’s ‘freak accident’
Rio Ferdinand’s wife former TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand admitted she was feeling “emotional” after her son required surgery following a “freak accident”.
The media personality, 29, took to Instagram to update her 1.4 million followers on the terrible ordeal.
Kate shares two-year-old son Cree with her husband Rio, 44, who is a former professional footballer and television pundit for BT Sport.
The star shared a picture of little Cree’s bandaged hand, filling her fans in on the nasty injury.
“Sorry for the radio silence,” she wrote. “My poor baby had a freak accident on Tuesday and ended up breaking a bone in his finger and then needed nail bed surgery.”
Rio has three children from his marriage to his first wife Rebecca, who tragically died of breast cancer back in 2015 when she was just 34 years old.
The pair shared Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and nine-year-old Tia, all of whom were left heartbroken by their mother’s death.
Since then, Rio has found new love with Kate, whom he married back in 2019.
Earlier this month, Kate revealed she planned to have a C-section with baby number two after enduring terrifying labour with Cree.
Back then, she had been forced to undergo an emergency C-section, which left her “completely wiped out.”
While a due date hasn’t yet officially been announced, Kate and Rio did reveal they are expecting a baby girl.
