Rihanna was reportedly booked as a headliner at Glastonbury Festival 2023 but had to drop out after becoming pregnant with her second child.

The Umbrella singer, 35, unveiled her blossoming baby bump during her Super Bowl halftime show, with her reps later confirming the Fenty founder was expecting.

The iconic performance was the Rude Boy charttopper’s first in more than six years as she steadily returns to music even previously teasing a new album could be released later this year.

It appears that these music ‘comeback’ plans would have also involved a Pyramid Stage set at Worthy Farm, alongside the likes of Sir Elton John, 76.

The Daily Mail claims Rihanna was very much on the line-up and scheduled for a headline performance at Glastonbury but had to cancel her appearance because it’s close to her due date.

The long-running festival, organised by the Eavis family, came under fire this year for controversially booking all-male headliners Sir Elton, Arctic Monkeys and Guns ‘N’ Roses.

Addressing the criticism, Emily Eavis had told The Guardian a female headliner was booked but pulled out because she ‘changed her touring plans.’ Could she have been referring to Rihanna?

The organiser also claimed festivals are struggling to secure viable female headliners due to an industry ‘pipeline’ problem but promised two for Glastonbury 2023.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s baby will be her and boyfriend A$AP Rocky’s second after welcoming a baby boy last May.

While the We Found Love singer and A$AP have kept their tot’s name private, he has been seen on outings with the couple and on his mum’s social media.

She had also recently shared pictures of her growing bump alongside two delicious-looking pasta dishes on her lap.
