Richard Madeley’s I’m A Celeb exit slammed by ex participant as ‘illness’ finally revealed

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Richard Madeley was taken to hospital for checks after he felt unwell during the night. The 63-year-old was then told he wasn’t allowed back into the camp after he came into contact with others outside of the show’s bubble.

Former contestant Katie Price, 43, has since hit out at the show for not allowing him back in.

The ex model questioned why the journalist was allowed back into the castle to be interviewed by Ant and Dec, but not the camp.

She said: “So because of Covid reasons, they said he couldn’t go back to the camp. Then how’s he gone back in the camp to do an interview with Ant and Dec, who will be going in the camp when they reveal who’s doing the challenges?”

“I can’t get my head around that either and he didn’t have a mask on or anything.”

“Basically I think I’d been up for about 20 hours the day before and the day before that, we were having very long days and sleeping quite late.”

Richard went on to say it was normal for him to forget to drink water, but thought leaving it until the morning would be OK.

“I basically woke up, I didn’t know where I was, I didn’t know what was going on and I could barely string a sentence together,” he added.

“I went to the hospital and had all the tests you could imagine. I had tests up here, I had bloods [and] all the rest of it.

“And I got 100 percent clean bill of health and they were happy for me to go back in, and by then I’d had a cup of tea and a drink of water and I was back on the rails.”
