Resident Evil Village Is Now Available for Macs but There Is a Catch

Capcom’s Resident Evil Village is now available for Macs that come with an M1 chip or later. The game won’t support any Macs that are Intel-based. The survival horror game has received praise for its gameplay and setting, as it maintains survival horror elements from previous games in the series.

Resident Evil Village is compatible with macOS Monterey 12.x and macOS Ventura 13.0. Only devices with Apple silicon are supported.

Here is a list of Macs that can play Resident Evil Village:

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, M2, 2022)
  • MacBook Pro (16-inch, M1 Pro, 2021) / MacBook Pro (16-inch, M1 Max, 2021)
  • MacBook Pro (14-inch, M1 Pro, 2021) / MacBook Pro (14-inch, M1 Max, 2021)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)
  • MacBook Air (M2, 2022) / MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
  • iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021)
  • Mac mini (M1, 2020)
  • Mac Studio(M1 Max, 2022)/ Mac Studio(M1 Ultra, 2022)

IGN awarded the game a score of 8/10 in its review, writing: “Roaming the streets of Resident Evil Village is like visiting a disturbing and deadly Disneyland, where every attraction is a house of horrors. I got just as big a thrill out of revelling in its frenzied violence as I did retracing my steps through the gradually revealed recesses of its sizable village setting to uncover the darkest story secrets of its monstrous main cast. Boss fights are a bit of a letdown but the great variety of enemies throughout keeps things tense, especially on Hardcore mode. The fact that it’s very much a throwback to the fast-paced action of Resident Evil 4 also means it largely takes a step back from the slow-burn scares of Resident Evil 7’s excellent opening hours, which may well disappoint those who prefer more psychological dread to blowing off heads. But if you have an itch for action-heavy survival-horror, then Resident Evil Village will scratch it like a fistfull of Lady Dimitrescu’s freakish fingernails.”

Resident Evil Village can be downloaded from the Mac App Store. The game is priced at 3,499 INR in India.
