Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Village will be getting a PSVR2 version, putting players right in the shoes of protagonist Ethan Winters.

Resident Evil 7 released on the original PlayStation VR with great success, despite the fact that many were too terrified to play like this for extended periods.

Those attending Tokyo Game Show will be the first to try the new immersive version with a playable demo being made available at the event.

This will be the first time that the public have been able to experience the latest PlayStation VR.

PlayStation VR 2 WON’T be home for Christmas, Sony confirms

PSVR2 will include numerous upgrades over its predecessor, released in 2016.

Bringing it up to the industry standard, it will feature near 4K resolution and eye tracking to reduce motion sickness.

It will also feature PlayStation’s patented haptic feedback to make games more immersive, as well as individually adjustable eyepieces.

Guerilla Games, creator of the Horizon series, is also developing a game for the upcoming system, called Horizon Call of the Mountain.

A price has yet to be revealed for PSVR2, though it is likely to be higher than estimates were suggesting.

Sony recently announced that the PS5 would be receiving a price increase in the majority of regions around the world, excluding the US.

Prices will rise across the board by as much as 12% depending on the region. This is reportedly to combat high global inflation rates.

Those who wish to purchase the upcoming PSVR2 will require a PS5 in order to play it.

It is rumoured that Sony moved the release date of the new virtual reality headset until after Christmas.

This move is apparently in the hopes of increasing the number of PS5’s in people’s homes.
