Remnant 2: How To Unlock The Gunslinger Archetype Without Preordering

There are quite a few archetypes in Remnant II, each providing its own strengths and weaknesses. If you’re the type who enjoys being the ultimate damage-dealer, though, you won’t need to look any further than the Gunslinger. Those who pre-ordered Remnant II got immediate access to this class, but for everyone else, here’s how to unlock the Gunslinger archetype.

How to unlock the Gunslinger archetype in Remnant II

To unlock the Gunslinger archetype, you’ll need to complete most of the biomes in the campaign and then pay a visit to Mudtooth in Ward 13. This old fellow can be found sitting with a pal playing chess behind a building not too far from the World Stone.

Mudtooth loves to talk, so you’ll have to push through some chatting until you reach a point where you can ask him to tell you stories. Be prepared, though, as you’re about to have to sit through a lot of these tales.

You can choose to pay attention or simply skip through the stories as you wish, but you’ll need to continue asking him for more stories until he finally runs out. Keep in mind, though, that he may run out of tales temporarily and ask you to give him some time to think, so continue on with your campaign and revisit him later when this happens. He’ll finally be ready to wrap things up by the time you reach the final stretch of the game.

Once he finally runs out of stories to tell you, you’ll earn the Worn Cylinder, which you can take over to Wallace up the stairs in a hut at the docks. Exchange the Rusty Cylinder with him to receive the Iron Cylinder, then equip it to one of your archetype slots to activate the Gunslinger archetype.
