Regine Velasquez recounted her performance of “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin” in a concert with fellow singer Martin Nievera in 2003, and confessed that she cannot belt out songs like she used to.

The Asia’s Songbird admitted this while showing a video of her performance, through her Twitter page yesterday, Oct. 2.

“Just watched this. Medyo magaling pala ako dito (I was quite good here) but of course, this was 100 years ago,” she said. “I can’t do this anymore.”

Fans of the singer could not help but disagree with her as they pointed out that Velasquez still amazes every time she performs. Some netizens also noted how Velasquez still serves as their inspiration when it comes to singing.

“You haven’t changed, miss ma’am! Napakagaling pa din! (You are still an outstanding [singer]!)” one @hohophya07 stated. “Abangers kami ng lola ko lagi kapag ikaw na ang kakanta.” (My grandmother and I always watch out [for your performances].)

“You’re still magaling [a good singer] up to this day, ate! Whether you admit it or not,” one @StanQueenRegine said.

You are the reason why I sang as a kid. You are the reason why I’m trying to sing again,” tweeted content creator and former Miss Trans Global Mela Habijan, who uses the handle @missmelahabijan.

Meanwhile, Velasquez recently served as judge in the reality singing competition “Idol Philippines.” She is also one of the hosts of the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay.” EDV
