Rebekah Vardy’s ‘fury being handed £1.8m bill by Coleen Rooney’

Rebekah Vardy is reportedly not pleased over Coleen Rooney’s “inflated” £1.8million legal bill that includes pricey meals and expenses for luxury hotels, it has been claimed.

The sum to be paid by Jamie Vardy’s wife was estimated to be around £500,000 after being ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal costs.

According to reports, the 41-year-old is now demanding a breakdown of the legal bill.

Sources have told The Sun Rebekah was left “furious after seeing Coleen’s bill” and has launched a “war” over the costs.

The sources say she will pay what she “rightfully owes” but thinks Coleen is “pushing her luck by asking for almost £2million”.

They have claimed Rebekah’s lawyers have demanded a “detailed breakdown” from Coleen’s legal team of some of the items included in the bill.

“Becky has been given paperwork as part of the bill which shows how much Coleen’s team budgeted – and how much they are charging,” the source said.

“Her legal team has said that some of the costs appear to have been inflated.”

The source addressed various costs which has sparked concern as Wayne Rooney’s wife is claimed to have included a £6,000 fee for briefing the press.

They also claimed that Coleen’s team had budgeted just over £32,000 for an expert to speak at the trial but the final bill amounted to over £148,000.

Another alleged cost was the amount spent on Coleen’s barrister, David Sherborne, which was reportedly billed for £524,000 despite being budgeted at £299,000.

The trial dubbed Wagatha Christie sparked headlines last year when Rebekah sued Coleen for libel, denying she was the source leaking stories about the Rooney family to the press.

She lost the court case in July when mother-of-four Coleen’s Instagram post which said Rebekah was the source was found to be “substantially true” by a judge.

Rebekah spent two days on the witness stand being grilled by Mrs Rooney’s legal team, breaking down in tears on several occasions.
