RCBC credit card billings up in 2022

Yuchengco-led Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. said strong consumer spending and the introduction of new features pushed up credit card billings by 42 percent in 2022.

“With the implementation of several initiatives, including our recent rebranding, RCBC Credit Cards has firmly established itself as a leading force in the Philippine credit card industry,” said RCBC Bankard Services Corp. president and CEO Arniel Vincent Ong said in a statement.

The company, formerly known as RCBC Bankard, was rebranded in September last year.

It added that volumes were bolstered by merchant partnerships and promotions and new “digital solutions”. It underscored the introduction of “UnliPay”, which allows credit card holders to transfer funds using their available credit limit to pay any bank or e-wallet via the native mobile app.

“This allowed RCBC Credit Cardholders to pay merchants who cannot accept credit card payments,” the company said.

RCBC Credit Cards also benefited from the revenge travel trend since it offers various promos to international flyers.

RCBC Credit Cards offered close to 300 dining, shopping, and wellness promotions to its card base, from top in-store and online merchants, the statement showed.

“Our exceptional performance is a testament to the effectiveness of these initiatives and our commitment to providing top-notch financial solutions to our customers,” Ong said.
