Raven-Symone opens up on making dates sign NDAs before getting intimate
Raven-Symone has shed light on the bizarre side of fame, admitting that she has asked people to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before having sex.
The 36-year-old, who led the way on Disney’s That’s So Raven, offered up a bizarre insight into Hollywood during her recent appearance on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, when talk turned to relationships.
‘All of my relationships, especially when I started dating, I had to get people to sign NDAs,’ she confessed.
‘It took me a while to wrap my head around it because it’s just very impersonal. But somebody in our position has to do that.’
When asked about the timeline in which Raven presents a partner with the documents, she laughed: ‘Before the naughty times come. I’m serious, right before naughty time comes.’
A baffled Howie replied: ‘So you have paperwork on your nightstand?’
‘Yes,’ she added. ‘Not always on the nightstand, it might happen the day before or whatever.
‘Now they have consent forms, like, “Are you okay with this? Can I do this? You can do this to me.” That’s part of it now.
‘Welcome to being a celebrity in Hollywood nowadays.’
Raven let slip that she ‘still has them all’ locked away in a filing cabinet so ‘nobody can say anything’.
The Cosby Show actress also revealed that her mom urged her to ask her wife, Miranda Maday – who she married in 2020 – to sign paperwork two months into their relationship, something she initially refused to do.
‘I was really reluctant because I knew something was different about Miranda,’ she recalled. ‘I sat her down, I was like, ‘I have to ask you something, will you sign this paper?”
‘She said she didn’t understand, because she knew that we had something different, it just feels different.
‘She did it for me because she knew that I was being pushed elsewhere, and she understood. But we both were like, this takes away the genuineness of it all.’
