Raptors still not offering Scottie Barnes in potential trade for Kevin Durant: report
The Toronto Raptors are (still) not willing to trade Scottie Barnes for Kevin Durant.
A new report from Shams Charania of The Athletic repeats much of what we already know, but also makes clear that the Raptors’ stance on their prized 21-year-old has not changed.
“The Raptors have refused to make Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes available,” Charnia wrote while explaining that the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Raptors remain the most serious threats to land Durant, but trade talks have been non-existent recently.
“No one yet has met Brooklyn’s high price tag of an All-Star, other high-level players and draft picks,” the report said.
According to The Athletic, the Memphis Grizzlies were a new team to show interest in Durant, while the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets also inquired this summer.
Barnes is clearly not bothered by the trade rumours this off-season. The Raptors forward was in Toronto this past weekend, putting on a show at the Mattamy Centre for a pro-am event with teammate Malachi Flynn.
