Rachel McAdams flashes armpit hair after request for photo editor
Rachel McAdams, 44, has become a cultural icon after playing high school queen bee Regina George in Mean Girls, and Ryan Gosling’s love interest in The Notebook.
But now, the Hollywood star is keen to show fans her more human side in a candid photo shoot she requested to be retouched “as minimally as possible”.
Rachel, who made her Hollywood film debut in the 2002 comedy The Hot Chick, looked fierce in a new series of photos that showed her imperfections at her request.
She explained: “With this shoot, I’m wearing latex underwear. But I’ve had two children.
“This is my body, and I think that’s so important to reflect back out to the world.”
“It’s OK to look your best and work at it and be healthy, but that’s different for everyone,” Rachel added in the new interview with Bustle.
The media outlet also clarified in a note: “For Bustle’s photo shoot, she requested the images be edited as minimally as possible.”
Rachel lay down on a red sofa to pose for the glamorous snaps, which saw her wear a sultry, lace-trimmed sating jumpsuit and bold statement jewellery.
The actress also flaunted her texture skin and fine expression lines in the raw photoshoot after changing into a chic mini-skirt suit that she paired with a white lace bodysuit.
Rachel and Ryan Gosling played star-crossed lovers Allie and Noah in The Notebook, and they fell in love in real life while working together, going on to date from 2005 to 2007 and briefly again in 2008.
Mark Johnson, who produced the film, said he had screen-tested ten actresses with Ryan, none of whom were the right fit.
“We went around with a video camera and looked for people that were working and interrupted them from their movies,” he said. “And some of them were really, really, really great.
“But when Ms McAdams came in and read, it was apparent that she was the one.”
Ryan felt exactly the same way, admitting: “She came in, and she just took the role.
“And it was clear to me, anyway, that this was an actress that I wanted to work with.”
