Queen Letizia of Spain recreates her ‘perfect’ engagement look at the Palace
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain met the members of the Foundation at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
Letizia looked flawless in a white power suit from Carolina Herrera, one of the royal’s go-to designers.
This was the same suit the Spanish Queen chose to attend her daughter Princess Leonor’s graduation in Wales last month.
Today, she combined the tailored trousers and the elegant blazer with a white top, also from Carolina Herrera.
The monarch accessorised with a pair of Magrit nude pumps and the ATENEA gold hoop earrings from designer Nydia Jewels.
The white Carolina Herrera suit was almost identical to the all-white Armani look she wore to the announcement of her engagement to the then Prince Felipe of Spain.
In November 2003, Prince Felipe and Letizia Ortiz officially announced their engagement, posed for the press at the Royal Palace and hosted an engagement ceremony at the garden of El Pardo Palace.
Queen Letizia actually rewore the unique blazer with a v-lined collar design and the matching wide-legged trousers for Valentine’s Day in 2019, 16 years after the engagement.
On social media, royal fans praised Letizia’s style today and many compared the “way the King and Queen looked at each other” here with the “complicity” they had when they got engaged.
Instagram user @vidalrosa1964 commented: “Very elegant. I like the suit and the hairstyle suits her perfectly. A complete success.”
Another one said: “I love how the white looks and the very flattering hairstyle. Love!”
Royal watcher @marco_y_punto opined: “Outstanding today!!! Impeccable in everything!!” and social media user @theklastavrou added: “White nice and chic.”
A royal fan suggested: “The complicity they have as they look at each other with great love… You can’t fake chemistry!”
Instagram user @alqueniamesquita commented: “I’m so excited to see them like this!!!”
