Queen Letizia of Spain is one of the most stylish royals in Europe. Whenever she steps out, heads are turned and crowds whisper in response to what outfit she has chosen to wear. Express.co.uk spoke to stylist Melita Latham about Queen Letizia’s fashion sense and how it is less restricted than British royals like Kate Middleton.
Whatever royal duty Queen Letizia is attending, she always looks sharp and sophisticated.
Most recently she stepped out wearing a £299 leather dress and looked every inch impressive.
During the pandemic, the Spanish royal showed the power of sartorial diplomacy, always choosing to mix high street labels with designers.
And no matter what she wears, it sells out within hours as fans want to replicate the look themselves.

Queen Letizia signature look involves cinching in her waist with a statement belt, waistband or detail.
She is also a lover of light floaty fabrics that tend to be fitted on top, with A-line skirts that hit just below the knee.
And many times over the year she has recycled outfits or fashion items – similarly to the Duchess of Cambridge.
So what does stylist Melita Latham think about Queen Letizia’s fashion choices?
“Her flirty gowns, flamenco ruffles, side split skirts gives her much more of an edge than perhaps members of our own royal family.
“I look forward to seeing her next outfit how can she exceed the last wow factor. An inspiring fashionista.”
There have been many times Queen Letizia has opted for more fashionable and risqué outfits (for a royal).
In August this year, she was seen sitting down and enjoying the Closing Ceremony of Atlantida Mallorca Film Fest and the navy dress she had chosen had a draped skirt that fell open over one leg exposing her thighs.
On another occasion in July 2020, Queen Letizia and the other Spanish royals attend a dinner honour journalism award winners and she chose a striking strapless red dress that had bust detailing and a was it band and was slim fitted until it hit just below the knee.
In September 2020, the Spanish royal was pictured arriving at the BBVA Foundation waving a check dress with a black belt that had a slit up one side on her thigh.
And a few weeks later when attending the Cooperator’s Day event at Viana Palace Queen Letizia wore a navy and white check dress which showed her bare shoulders.
While Queen Letizia pulls of these looks with confidence and style, Kate Middleton, on the other hand, chooses more conservative outfits.
