Queen Letizia contrasts ‘Barbie’ dress with green emerald earrings

Queen Letizia, 50, and King Felippe, 54, along with the Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey, walked across Pariser Platz square today in front of the landmark Brandenburg Gate in central Berlin. The Queen braved the rain and carried a large umbrella for the occasion.

Letizia opted for a Carolina Herrera Belted Coat for today’s occasion, which looked very similar to a camel coat worn by Princess Eugenie on Monday.

The Queen has been seen wearing this coat since 2017, and she wore it over her shoulders as opposed to putting her arms through the sleeves.

According to the Carolina Herrera website, this stone coloured coat features “notched lapels, a double breasted front fastening, a belted waist, side flap pockets, a long length and a straight hem”. Unfortunately it is no longer in stock, so it is unknown how much the item originally cost.

Letizia wore this coat over her Moises Nieto Fuchsia Midi Dress, which she has also been wearing since last year.

This dress costs €390, or roughly £340 in British Sterling. It is a midi dress in a fuchsia pink fabric. Additionally, it is fitted at the waist and has a flared skirt, French sleeves and a crew neckline.

To accessorise, the Queen went for her Furla 1927 Mini Handbag, which would set royal fans back £365.

According to the website, this bag “is a mini handbag made of Ares textured leather. The model is embellished by the distinctive twist closure with a metal Arch logo on the front”.

It has been described as “an elegant and original accessory for neatly storing your personal belongings”.

DON’T MISS:

Letizia also chose another pair of accessories, but this time she opted for jewellery.

She wore her Gold and Roses Joyas ‘Jardin de Aire’ 18-karat rose gold earrings with diamonds and emeralds. These green earrings offered a nice contrast to her bright fuchsia dress.

The description reads: “The green colour is in the plants; the water drops are reminiscent of brilliants and the warmth is provided by the skin and the colour contrast that highlights the white and green harmony of the collection.

“It is about creating a micro-landscape that suggests and inspires, which takes us to a jewellery garden through the details: the profile of a leaf, the colour of a flower, the verticality, the light of the image.”

These earrings cost a sensational €2,095, or roughly £1,820, which puts these jewels at the higher end of royal jewellery.

For footwear, the Queen of Spain wore her Prada Pointed Toe 100 Nude Patent Leather Pumps.

Proving her frugality, Letizia has owned these shoes for seven years, wearing them as far back as 2015.

Their description reads: “There is nothing quite like the sound of clicking heels. Make sure people know when you arrive thanks to these nude patent leather pointed-toe 100 pumps from Prada.

“They better be ready. Featuring a slip-on style, a pointed toe, a high stiletto heel, a leather sole, a gold-tone logo plaque and a branded insole.”

These shoes are so iconic, that Prada still sells them for $720, or roughly £635.

Royal fan @selinbarac48 simply referred to Letizia on Instagram as “Barbie” due to her stunning pink dress.

Meanwhile, @ellainthecityboston added: “Beautiful!” to describe the Queen Consort.
