Queen Camilla dons elaborate feathered hat and dress at Royal Ascot
Camilla looked regal in a pastel shade of green as she arrived at Royal Ascot just minutes ago.
Sat alongside King Charles in the first carriage of the Royal Procession, the 75-year-old appeared to be smiling ahead of the event.
After stepping out in a baby pink dress yesterday, Camilla stayed true to her summery palette today in a green number.
The Queen Consort wore an Anna Valentine chiffon coat dress with a rather extravagant hat by Philip Treacy.
Adorned with fluffy feathers in a matching shade, the slanted style looked brilliant against Camilla’s blonde hair.
One guest who is lucky enough to be in the Royal Enclosure commented on Camilla’s “effortless” outfit.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk , Mok O’Keeffe, Royal Historian and Commentator (@gayaristo) said: “The Royal Enclosure is sweltering in 28 degrees of sunshine. As the royal party set off from Windsor Castle, the Queen kept effortlessly cool in a mint green dress accessorised with feathers, and a Van Clef and Arpels bracelet.
“Laughing and smiling at her husband, the couple looked extremely happy to greet the cheering crowds.”
The hat is a bold choice for Camilla though it’s not the first time she’s been seen wearing such an interesting style.
In fact, she styled a similar feather hat for Trooping the Colour back in 2016, though on that occasion, it was white rather than a mint green.
To complete the outfit, the royal matched the hat and dress with leather gloves in the same shade of green. She even topped it off with a statement diamond brooch that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.
While Camilla’s ensemble today was made up of new garments, it is typical of her signature style. In fact, she wore a very similar dress just yesterday by the same designer and has donned Philip Treacy hats on each day of Royal Ascot so far.
The chiffon style made for a simplistic and lightweight outfit, but the royal still looked chic as she made her way past the crowds.
While fewer royals arrived in the procession today than on Wednesday, royal commentator Mok explained that the family members were quick to greet each other.
He said: “The Duchess of Edinburgh was not in a carriage today. She joined on foot with other members of the extended Royal Family.
“But as soon as the King and Queen arrived, Sophie ran over to say hello.”
