Queen Camilla dons Dior days after Meghan Markle dropped-deal rumors
Queen Camilla came in white-hot at Tuesday’s Royal Ascot by rocking a crisp Dior outfit — just days after Meghan Markle’s supposed partnership with the brand fell through.
The monarch, 75, donned a custom-made milky white luxury coat, matching hat and dress for the event in Berkshire, England.
She finished off her look with diamond earrings, a thick silver necklace and a gemstone brooch.
It was reported on June 18 that the Duchess of Sussex, 41, could be working with Dior.
Rumors swirled she could be signing a deal with the French label in an attempt to “re-invent” herself.
However, Page Six reported a day later that there is no such “mega-bucks” contract in the works.
Her rep also told the Telegraph that the Dior claims were false, with a source from the clothing house explaining it was “nonplussed as to how the story came about.”
But the former actress is a big fan of Dior, having sported them for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and at her son Prince Archie’s christening in 2019.
Her husband, Prince Harry, also loves to rock Dior. The Duke of Sussex, 38, attended his father, King Charles’ coronation on May 6 where he wore a three-piece suit from the label.
As for the Royal Ascot, the lavish party involves fun spring fashions, gossip among British high society and exhilarating horse races.
King Charles, 74, and Camilla chaired the event and sources recently told Page Six that the main topic on everyone’s lips was why Harry and Markle did not attend.
“The gossip in the royal enclosure was how happy everyone was that Meghan and Harry weren’t here,” an eyewitness said.
People were also whispering about Camilla’s frosty relationship with the Sussexes.
Markle and the Invictus Games founder had married in May 2018 and she had appeared at her first Royal Ascot soirée just a month later.
“Camilla’s friends say she remains furious at Harry and Meghan,” another insider explained, referring to the moment when Harry called her a “wicked stepmother” in his memoir, “Spare.”
The source went on, “Camilla tells Charles they make her uncomfortable, and Charles loves her unconditionally — he made her queen and will choose her well-being over them every time.”
“Camilla knows not to go too far, as Charles still loves Harry. Everyone blames Meghan for the entire mess,” the source said.
