It’s been reported plans to reintroduce quarantine and testing for travelling Britons are in the works. The new restrictions would apply to people who have refused their third, booster jab.
Trying to protect the country against new Covid variants, ministers are looking at reintroducing restrictions many Britons thought they’d seen the back of.
Quarantine and testing requirements are reportedly being looked at for Britons who refused their third jab.
These reports come as Health Secretary Sajid Javid announced 10 million people had now received their booster jab.
This is, however, only 60 percent of those eligible for the third jab.

The Government is encouraging Britons eligible to come forward.
The plan to put more travel restrictions on people who have refused a third jab would effectively change the definition of “fully jabbed”.
To be considered fully vaccinated, Britons currently need two shots.
The new plan would change this definition to three shots.

The plan is modelled on the Israeli system.
Britons who are not fully vaccinated with a third shot would not be able to avoid quarantine by providing a negative Covid test.
A Government source was reported saying: “This is not going to happen immediately – but happen it will.”
The current rules require Britons who have not been fully vaccinated to self-isolate for 10 days.
At present, the booster jabs are available for over 50s and the clinically vulnerable.
Pfizer is also bidding for its vaccine to be administered to children under 12.
Ministers are split on the issue of vaccinating younger children.
They are hoping the booster campaign will be enough to move the country from pandemic to endemic.
