Qatar flight tracked online as Man Utd desperation seeps in following threat

Desperate Manchester United fans online are tracking a flight from Qatar in the hope Sheikh Jassim is on his way to seal a takeover of the club. The mysterious billionaire submitted a fifth offer for the Red Devils earlier in the week. However, he also threatened to withdraw from the process on Friday if he doesn’t get the answer he’s looking for.

United fan page @UtdPaper took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a flight from Rimini in Italy to London Heathrow.

Using Flightradar24, the journey in question is being undergone by a ‘Qatar Executive’.

And desperate fans on social media are hoping Sheikh Jassim is somehow involved, despite no evidence he or any of his consortium are on board.

User @Mahad_bajwa said: “Don’t give me hopes…”

@TheTrickyReds20 said: “I’d get excited but these people are so rich it could be just a random billionaire feeling for a hotdog or something.”

Man Utd takeover: Garnacho could be set for awkward reunion after Sheikh Jassim approval

“Qatar Executive is a charter company, so it just could be anyone. If it was an Emiri flight, the (sic) It could be someone big or from the government,” stated @Somyshah8.

“Means nothing,” were the accurate words of @Utd_dan31.

And user @Jimmy0184679 weighed in with: “Probably to congratulate west ham and buy them.”

Sheikh Jassim has kept a low profile throughout the whole process.

Yet with the saga nearing it’s end, it’ll be fascinating to see what comes out in the coming hours ahead.

Sheikh Jassim only wants 100 per cent control of United, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe going after the controlling 51 per cent stake.

The Qatari billionaire, as well as his rival, has a team on standby in the event of any potential takeover.

But with the Glazers yet to indicate their preferred bidder, the situation remains very much up in the air.

Meanwhile, speaking recently, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor opened up on the United takeover process.

And he called on the Glazers to ‘go back to America’, while also expressing concerns over the Red Devils should they end up retaining power.

“I do feel sorry for Man United, I feel their pain,” he said.

“I do mock them sometimes about wanting the Glazers out, but when you hear about what’s going on behind the scenes – the fans must be pulling their hair out.

“It’s time for the Glazers to go back to America, let new owners come in and help them compete again.

“Man United aren’t far away. They’re three or four players away from competing for a league title.

“If the Glazers stay in, then you can’t see that kind of investment coming.

“I think they’re playing with fire and I can see a lot of backlash from the fans if they stay at the club.”
