Punch missed as Titans triumph in fiery thriller
By
Gold Coast triumphed in at-times fiery thriller at Cbus Super Stadium, but the Titans were lucky not to lose a player to the sin bin in the first half.
St George Illawarra looked to have clinched victory when Ben Hunt scored to break the deadlock in the 74th minute, until the home side snatched victory with a Toby Sexton try and Tanah Boyd conversion minutes later.
Fans were off their seats at the finish, as they had been earlier in the game when a number of brawls erupted.

NRL Highlights: Titans v Dragons – Round 6
The incident sparked a scuffle with players coming from every direction, and Titans skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui was warned by referee Peter Gough to control himself and his team.
Then in the 31st minute players came together again when Fa’asuamaleaui paid Tyrell Sloan some attention on the ground after wrapping him up in a tackle.

Dragons forward Jaydn Su’a rushed in to remonstrate, before Gold Coast hooker Erin Clark grabbed Sloan and seemed to throw a punch, which luckily missed its mark.
Despite vision showing an apparent strike, Clark was allowed to remain on the field and his team even earned the penalty for the Su’a act.
Titans coach Justin Holbrook was not convinced Clark did attempt to punch Sloan.
“I’m not sure if it was a punch… he swung his arm forward,” Holbrook said.
Dragons coach Anthony Griffin was quizzed about Clark being let off, but opted to take a diplomatic approach.
“When you play away from home, and against a desperate side, you have to deal with those things,” Griffin said.
The Titans play the Broncos next week, while St George Illawarra travels to Canberra.
