PS Plus free PS5 and PS4 games for August 2023 – Hades, Resident Evil 2 and more
The August 2023 PlayStation Plus Essentials are about to be revealed by Sony. Available to subscribers on all tiers, the line-up contains a mixture of three PS4 and PS5 games. Because of the way the dates fall, the PS Plus Essentials will be officially unveiled at 4.30pm BST UK time on July 26. The games will be available to download less than a week later on August 1. With the reveal just days away, fans have been making predictions about which games will join the service in August.
In an always entertaining predictions thread on Reddit, some fans believe the PS Plus line-up be headlined by superb roguelike action game Hades.
With a sequel launching at some point within the next year or two, subscribers think that now is the time for Hades to make an appearance on PlayStation Plus.
“Defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash out of the Underworld in this rogue-like dungeon crawler from the creators of Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre,” reads the official Hades description.
“As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.”
Other games featured heavily in the predictions thread include the excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake, although this may be wishful thinking.
The survival horror game could be joined by the likes of skating combat title Rollerdrome, and creepy puzzle-platformer Little Nightmares 2.
Martial arts action game Sifu also makes an appearance in the predictions thread, alongside Sekiro, Stardew Valley and Death’s Door.
That’s on top of Sonic Frontiers, Lost Judgement, No Man’s Sky, FIFA 23 and the recent Saints Row remake.
“As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints – and take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall as you build your empire across the streets of Santo Ileso and battle for control of the city,” reads the official description.
“Ultimately Saints Row is the story of a start-up company, it’s just that the business The Saints are in happens to be crime.
“Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created; the unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger than life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top.”
